As a child we receive love from our parents or care-givers. To make sure that we survive therefore, we learn what to do to ensure that we are pleasing to them because it is a matter of life and death. This pleasing behaviour led to us starting to live life as a constant adjusting and adapting to other’s expectations, rather than listening to ourselves and following our true impulse.

Anytime we experience fear, it can be traced back to this primal fear of being abandoned by our parents. FEAR of loosing security, love and belonging became the yardstick for living before we could even talk. So that is how we lose our state of innocence, love and freedom.  Most of us are, for this reason, constantly compromising our integrity and flow, running from fear or run by fear, in the service of mostly unconscious strategies for security, love and belonging. Unable, maybe, to even HEAR what our true inner impulse in the moment is – not to speak of spontaneously LIVING it.

A way out of this predicament is to explore our fears, instead of avoiding anything that raises fear for us, or blindly following the dictates of fear.

As Matt Licata puts it: “As a little one, with a developing brain and nervous system, we learn to disown or dissociate from any state of mind which has the potential to disrupt the tie to critical attachment figures. This capacity of repression is intelligent and creative, and in many cases saved our lives. But many of us long to know joy again, to feel alive, to fully participate here. Illuminating, tending to, and working through these contradictions is difficult, heartbreaking, and rewarding work.”

In the same way that we developed a strong ‘pleaser’ part to us, so too do we create many other parts. These different are also known as sub-personalities. It turns out that these different parts all have their own job descriptions and roles. Just like employees in an organisation, so too can the different parts of your psyche be thought of as employees in the organisation of You. They have their own job descriptions and strategies for carrying out those job descriptions. For example, one of the most common parts that we all have is an ‘Inner Critic’ part. You know, that ‘part’ of you that is always telling you what a failure you are, that you’ll never amount to anything, blah, blah, blah.  The job description of most Inner Critics, is to help you be accepted and liked by others – to fit in. The strategy that it uses commonly includes the on-going inner prompting that you are not doing or being good enough, so you need to do/be better.

Another example of a part is the Inner child.  This inner child is in most of us a wounded inner child. What happens is that the wounded part of you is formed mostly when we are too young to make sense of life and go through some major trauma that feels to us at the time that it is going to take our life. For instance, because a child is totally dependent on her adult care-givers for sustenance and Life, if one of those care-givers is in a bad mood one day and shouts at the child, the child could easily form a part of itself to cope with the pain of being rejected.

The difference between a belief and a Part, is that a part has a ‘life’ of it’s own. It is literally a sub-part of the psyche which ‘breaks-off’ from the main personality, usually in response to a trauma or highly   charged event. These ‘parts’ of our psyche break off because and become little ‘people’ on their own when we simply find the emotion associated with the event or trauma too much to bear.

Sometimes we even have a ‘playful inner child’ which is the part of us that was never allowed to play. Any part of us that was unacceptable in some way to some one usually becomes a part. But there are literally hundreds of parts to the human being and in this fascinating work with inner parts alignment, we learn to know and integrate these different parts of ourselves. We know that a part is out of alignment when we want to do something new. Like lose that weight, find a new job or start a new venture. That is when the older parts of you are likely to put up a fight, which is why change is so hard for most of us. There’s a ‘part’ of me that wants desperately to lose weight, but there’s another part of me that cannot stop eating chocolate.

Beliefs and Parts are at the core of our life experience. Over your lifetime your subconscious has collected hundreds of thousands of beliefs, and many Parts. You live under the weight of this collection in your sub-conscious psyche. You can probably feel the heaviness in your shoulders, your belly or your back. You might have noticed that in spite of all the personal growth work you’ve done, nothing has changed much, and we seem to settle back into our ‘set-point’ – that state that we become when we are not trying to be better.  Most of us have a fundamental set-point that is anxious, fearful or sad.

Affirmations don’t really work because like a computer programme, unless and until you actually uninstall the old programmes, the old programmes (beliefs and parts) are still around. This is because once a belief or Part has been created by you, it will remain operational until it is deleted, re-assigned and a new one created in its place.

Usually when we talk about parts of ourselves that we have disowned and placed into what Jung called the shadow, we’re referring to less desirable material such as fear, rage, shame, and despair. The shadow is seen as the dark repository for all of the so-called negative aspects of ourselves, i.e. unhealthy dependency, unacknowledged narcissism, unmet hopelessness, and the looming ghosts of our unlived lives.

But it is not only negative aspects that we defend against, dissociate from, and place into the unconscious. Many of us have lost the capacity to access, embody, and express more “positive” experiences such as contentment, pleasure, creativity, sexuality, intimacy, and excitement.

While it is a bit harder to wrap our minds around, some of us have disconnected from the simple experience of joy, a spontaneous sense of elation at being alive. For example, if the very natural, raw, human experience of joy constellated complexes in our parents – say it brought up anxiety in Mom, anger in Dad, or caused others to shame or pull away from us – we learned quite quickly that joy is not okay, and even potentially dangerous. This reality can be very confusing as we come to associate the experience of joy with being unsafe.

To re-train ourselves to feel joy is not an easy path as by definition we will have to step back through that anxiety, panic, and sense of annihilation that the repression of joy has served to protect us from. But it is a path well worth exploring. To allow ourselves, as part of our inquiry, to see the ways we have placed not only “negative” material into the unconscious shadow, but how we have split off from the positive as well.

What is the method used in the Inner Healing and Transformation Process?

When aligning Parts, I use a powerful yet non-threatening methods including role-play, Voice Dialog, Body Work, Co-Active Coaching and Spiritual Healing.  These techniques combined with my background as a Coach and well-developed spiritual intuition as an Inner Healing practitioner, all work together in a session. I have had tremendous success with clients who experience a freeing up of stuck energy through meeting parts of themselves that they never even knew they had, and finding self-compassion and love for themselves and their parts as a result of sessions with me.

The Imagintion is our Biggest Asset

The sub-conscious is the domain of our Beliefs and Parts. It is also known as the ‘Imaginal Realm’. One aspect of this Inner Healing and Transformation work is learning to use the imagination as it was intended: to create what we DO want. Unless and until we take the decision to be the ‘master’ of the mind not the servant, we will continue to be ruled by an imagination that is running itself mainly out of fear and thus creating that which we DO NOT want!

Our beliefs create our reality! In fact we could probably say that our thoughts create our reality! What is the difference between a thought and a belief? A belief is a thought that we have repeated to ourselves one thousand times!

How do our thoughts create our reality?

On the physiological level, our brain responds to every thought by releasing chemicals like cortisol and adrenaline into our bloodstreams, hormones that are often called stress hormones, which prepare us for a quick and powerful reaction to whatever is causing us stress. For our distant ancestors, this response would save them from an angry bear that had camped out in their cave, for example. Then, once they felt that the threat was gone, their emotions shifted and the elevated levels of the stress hormones returned to the normal levels of everyday life. The key here is that the stress response is designed to be temporary and brief. When it kicks in, we infuse our bodies with the chemistry needed to respond quickly and powerfully to the threat. It’s all about survival.

Sadly, however, our modern world is pretty much a constant stress trigger and we find ourselves living permanently in the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ response. This stops the release of other chemicals that are vital for growth, immunity, and anti-aging. In other words, the body can be in only one mode or the other: fight/flight mode or healing/growth mode. Clearly, we were never meant to live day in and day out with constant stress as a way of life. Yet this is precisely the situation that many of us find ourselves experiencing today.

The good news is that YOU CAN CHANGE THIS RIGHT NOW! The Inner Healing and Transformation Process specialises in clearing the sub-conscious! Update old programmes that keep us trapped in smallness and limitation; aligning the various parts of us that stopping us from moving forward and changing our reality for the better. You will get more ease and compassion for yourself and come away with a deep appreciation of why you are like you are.

How do thoughts change our reality?

On the mental/emotional levels, our thoughts act like filters in our sub-conscious. They are like computer programmes that we have installed at some point in our life and continue to run until we ‘uninstall’ or update them. We can do all the personal growth work we like, say affirmations, even meditate,  but unless and until we change our thinking and particularly those ever-repeating core beliefs, we are unlikely to have any lasting change in terms of a vast improvement in our quality of life.

In the same way that our hearts send our brains the signals of chaos when we feel negative emotions, positive emotions send another kind of signal to our brains that is more regular, more rhythmic, and orderly. In the presence of positive emotions, such as appreciation, gratitude, compassion, and caring, the brain releases a very different kind of chemistry into the body. When we feel a sense of well-being, the level of stress hormones in our bodies decreases, while the life-affirming chemistry of a powerful immune system with anti-aging properties increases. The shift between the stress response and a feeling of well-being can happen quickly, and the Inner Healing and Transformation process acts as the catalyst to do the internal work needed to heal beliefs, align the different parts of us that also reside in the psyche, and help us to find love, ease and compassion for ourselves.

The BeliefCloset Process is a new and creative approach to freeing yourself from unwanted experiences. Use the BeliefClosetProcess to remove resistance, unwanted blocks or barriers standing in the way of your longings and needs.
The BeliefCloset Process invites in all aspects of you, mental, emotional, spiritual and creative to work together to transform your psychological ‘set-point’. What you belief about yourself; life; money; men; women; etc. As Einstein said that a problem can never be solved at the level it was created.

Discovering old beliefs hidden underground, bringing them into the light and turning them into something valuable for your life, enables you to become the master of your fate rather than the victim of it.

When you bring a subconscious belief up to the conscious level, you can examine it in detail, feel how it’s affected you throughout your life and make a conscious decision to keep it or discard it. You won’t throw away all of your beliefs, only the ones that are:

  1. Harmful to you or others
  2. Holding you back from expressing your magnificence
  3. Interfering with the manifestation of your life purpose.

As you study your beliefs and how they create your reality, your perspective gets broader and higher. New possibilities open.

When you change core beliefs you relieve your own suffering. You also contribute in a direct way to the relief of the suffering of others. The only thing standing between you and the life you want are your own limiting Beliefs. You become a shining example of what is possible. The BeliefCloset Process is easy, effective and fun. Its results are profound and permanent. Beliefs are like the human operating system – isn’t it time you got an upgrade?!

Here’s what others have to say about Inner Part Alignment and Belief Clearing work with me:

Beliefs Clearing Technique provided by Charmaine is a great tool for transforming ‘stuck energy’ into ‘moving forward energy’. A session with Charmaine allowed me to meet with an old wound, which needed to be healed in order for me to move on in a certain area of my life. Charmaine’s extraordinary ability to hold space with presence, reflecting back with accuracy, skillful summarizing, and her knowing of the technique made me feel safe and well taking take during the whole process. I would recommend a session with Charmaine to anyone who is open, and ready for changes in life!” – Marta Lyson, Poland.

“I have never experienced anything quite like the Inner Harmony work with Charmaine. Charmaine’s knowledge of various techniques for alignment work is extensive and the quality of her intervention is powerful. I experienced much more self-confidence after a couple of sessions with Charmaine, it’s like I finally understand why i am like I am, and can have more love and compassion for myself.” A.H. Cape Town

“I worked with Charmaine after a particularly traumatic time in my life. Over a period of 3 months and 12 sessions, I managed to clear the anxiety and trauma around the event. Charmaine also did ‘energetic clearing’ of my flat which enabled me to feel safe in my home space again after the event. She showed remarkable insight and depth of understanding about what I was going through and without her, I would not have made it through in one piece. I highly recommend her to anyone.” Wendy Lynch, Melkbosstrand, Cape Town.

“I met Charmaine just before I got married for the second time. I had developed a problem with not being able to lose weight. After the first session with Charmaine, I felt something shifted and the part of me that had been holding me back was ‘reassigned’ to another job. Since then I have steadily lost weight and have managed to keep it off. Now that I understand the different parts of me, I feel much more relaxed.” Lorraine Mansfield, Colorado, USA

” Here are some reflections from me: It has been a deep and clarifying process to work with beliefs with you. I enjoyed the methods – they suit my nature I guess. I felt trust in the relation and you were very clear and at the same time gentle and friendly.  I would really recommend this for others.  For me the process has strengthened the value of my being and also given me a deeper peace in my being. That makes me relax more and also more easily speak my truth. Thank you so much !!!” – Mette, Sweden.
